Water times should be restricted to early morning hours, 1:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m. Water pressure is better, wind is less, evaporation is lower, and the wet conditions are more tolerable for plant materials. Avoid any watering more than two hours after 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Rule of Thumb for watering:
Plants and grasses are healthier, deeper-rooted, and more tolerant of drought or cold when they are watered deep and infrequent. Shallow, frequent watering will not benefit your plant material for long-term care.
Example:
If you are watering your lawn 2 days per week for 30 minutes and this seems inadequate, water for 2 days per week for 45 minutes.
